Happy Anniversary Baby.... you on my miiind.

Who sung that anyway?

Yesterday was me and the dh's seventh anniversary. Seven - count em' years I say. This must be a record in my family. Not in his though, his parents could not be topped. They met in a store, he asked her out. She said ok, they went out that night and he proposed. A few weeks later - they were married.....and still as much gaga as 40 years ago.

Thats what its all about man.

I met my hubby on the internet. Yeah, the internet. And not in a Jerry Springer kind of way - before you go there. We met in a chat room, back when chat rooms were not venues for porn or child molesters. He lived in MA, me in KS and we met in Kansas City 3 months later.

My family flipped out - I was going to meet a 'complete stranger' I only knew from the internet. I knew though that he was the one, as cheesy and Matrix'y as that sounds. A guy does not bake cookies and ship them across the country for you unless he's a good guy. The cookies were awful, but you know - it was all about the attempt.

Anyway, we met and spent the week together. He asked me to move to MA til he could finish college. I went home, sold almost everything including my beloved Ford Bronco and loaded up the Lumina with my cat Sable and everything that would fit to drive across the country.

Only got lost once. Who the hell knew there is a Springfield MO and Springfield IL - and why don't the signs specify this? :)

We married a year to the date after our week in Kansas City.

So - to my hubby who as Bridget Jones would say "loves me just as I am" - back at ya bub!

Ok. So now - see - this is what happens when I can't upload pictures (camera issues) AND I don't spend alot of time knitting over the weekend!

Did watch the Survivor finale though. Ian, dude. What were you thinking? I'm still loving you ... even though.

Alright - thats it for me now. Must go and beat the hell outta my treadmill - got tacos to work off!

Have a good one!

Congratulations on your anniversary!! That is so exciting. I love stories about long, happy marriages. I agree - that is what its all about. Yay for Survivor. I was happy Tom won. And how bout the next one, in Guatamala? Looks pretty neat-o.

Congrats on the 7 years!

I agree about Ian, but was also blown away that he tossed the money away for friendship. Has any other Survivor done that before?

As for Tom....well, if I lived in NYC, I'd torch my barn so he could come and put it out. ;)

Awww, that is *so* sweet! And seven years is a kind of a special time made it throught the tough, early years. From here on out the years just keep coming, fast and furious (20+ here. I knew that I was gonna marry him on the first date...and didn't find out how old (young!) he was until it was already too late.)

Blessings and many more years to follow...
